Silicates are found in mains water, and can be transferred to your aquarium during water changes. They can cause algae growth and also block some vital trace elements. So the Salifert Profi-Test Kit is ideal to accurately test the water, quickly and easily.
- Silicates can also build up if a reverse osmosis or de ionising unit is not working properly. So it's important to test regularly to keep an eye on the parameters in your aquarium.
- The test kit has two scales. A lower scale which is great for marine water, and a higher one which is perfect for freshwater.
