Frequently Asked Questions
In the home page, click the + icon in the lower right corner and click "+ Aquarium".
Connecting equipment is simple. If the equipment is Wi-Fi based, then connect to the equipment via your Wi-Fi settings. If the equipment is Bluetooth compatible, then ensure that Bluetooth is turned on in your phone/tablet settings. Click the + button on the tank you wish to add to and then choose "Add Device". Then you can select the equipment from the list.
This has been made even easier with the use of a FAViA Hub. Simply power your equipment and then click the + button on the tank you wish to add to, choose "Add Device" and select the equipment you want to connect.
Ensure you are connected to the internet. If the problem persists then there may be a problem with the OpenAI servers or the API call is getting blocked by your firewall.
The green cloud shows a successful communication between FAViA and the cloud. Your data has been saved.
If you are unable to see your equipment in the "Add a device" page, hit the refresh icon at the bottom. If the device is Wi-Fi enabled, ensure that you are connected to its network in your phone/tablet's Wi-Fi settings. If the device is Bluetooth enabled, ensure that Bluetooth is turned on in your phone/tablet's settings. If you still cannot connect, turn the equipment off and on and then try again.
You can now control that piece of equipment! Navigate to the equipment tab in the home page and swipe to the aquarium that the equipment has been added to, then simply click the device you wish to control.
You can add third party equipment to the app by selecting the aquarium, pressing the + icon in the bottom right and pressing "+ Device" and then "Add other device". At the moment this will not allow control, but creates a record of what equipment is on that tank.
The green light icon indicates a response from AquaRay – this is only visible if you are directly connected to the light.
To upload a schedule you need to set 5 periods:
Go to the schedule tab.
Click "Period 0 Start" and select a time, then click "Period 0 End" and select a time.
Change the sliders to the desired light level.
Click the "+".
Repeat steps 1 to 4 four more times.
Click the upload button at the bottom.
The TMC Hub is a piece of hardware capable of communicating with all FAViA compatible TMC devices, unlocking extra functionality as well as measuring and recording live parameters.
You can use our app and equipment without a Hub, but having one improves some functionality. For instance, without a Hub, you will need to be on the same network as the equipment. But with a Hub, you can control and monitor your aquarium from anywhere. Additionally, a Hub unlocks more features, further improving your experience.
Power on your Hub and connect to its Wi-Fi (SSID begins with Hub-), go to the equipment page and tap the plus icon in the lower right corner, then connect to the Hub as you would for other equipment. You will be taken to the network configuration page within the Hub. Enter your home network's SSID and password and click connect.
If your Hub is still not connecting to Wi-Fi after you have added the network credentials, then go to the equipment page and click the drop down arrow on the Live Parameters section. This will reveal a Hub Menu — press the network configuration icon to re-enter your network credentials.
You can add an event to the app by selecting the aquarium, pressing the + icon and choosing "Add an Event". This will create a log of any significant events in that aquarium (e.g. achievements or setbacks). These can be viewed on the account page in the FAViA menu, displayed at the bottom of each aquarium card.
Select the aquarium you wish to add to, click the + icon in the bottom right corner and select "Add livestock".
On the Chemistry tab, click the tile with the plus sign. You will be shown a list of available parameters you can add. You can then manually enter your minimum and maximum value and update the parameter data by clicking the centre of the parameter tile.
Click the graph icon next to the parameter name. Here you can also delete certain parameters.
