Vecton Titan 850 Aquarium UV Steriliser

The Vecton Titan 850 is a photocatalytically enhanced UV steriliser rated for aquariums up to 850 litres. Its photocatalytic inner lining — made from specially selected materials — triggers a secondary oxidative reaction that produces cleaner, more transparent water without ozone, making it 1.3 times more effective than a standard UV steriliser of equivalent wattage. The photocatalytic layer also protects the UV-resistant polycarbonate body and extends overall service life.

Like all Vecton UV sterilisers, the Titan 850 features opposing inlet and outlet ports with four-stage hosetails accepting flexible hose from ½"" to 1¼"", secured with screw-on collars for tool-free removal during maintenance. A UV safety shield prevents direct lamp exposure during operation.

UV sterilisation targets only free-floating microorganisms — beneficial nitrifying bacteria in filter media, live rock, and substrate are unaffected. In both marine and freshwater aquaria, UV technology disrupts algae reproduction and eliminates waterborne pathogens, improving light penetration to the benefit of all livestock. The photocatalytic reaction of the Titan UV adds a measurable further improvement in water clarity beyond what sterilisation alone achieves.
