Two-stage, 45° rotating and removable hosetails accommodate rigid or flexible pipework in any orientation — horizontal, vertical, or angled. No glue required for flexible hose.

Water Enters
Pond water flows through your pump into the Ultima inlet via the rotating hosetail connection.

UV Exposure
The 30W or 55W UV-C lamp irradiates water as it passes along the full lamp length — maximum dwell, maximum kill rate.

Algae Cells Clump
UV-C radiation disrupts the cell walls of free-floating green algae, causing them to clump together for easy mechanical filtration.

Clear Water Returns
Sterilised, clarified water exits through the outlet — your filter catches the clumped algae, leaving crystal-clear pond water.
Choosing the Right Model
Pond volume is the starting point, but stocking level and sunlight exposure are equally important.
As a rule: if in doubt, go larger — there is no disadvantage to over-sizing a UV unit.

Easy Install. No Glue Required.
The Ultima is designed for DIY installation. Mount horizontally on a wall or vertical surface, connect to your existing pond pump and pipework, and you're done. A diagram is printed on the box.
- Mount the unit horizontally using the supplied wall brackets
- Rotate the hosetails to the angle that suits your pipework direction
- Push on 38mm or 40mm flexible hose — no glue, no clips needed
- For rigid pipe, solvent-cement 32mm metric pressure pipe directly into the hosetail bore
- Connect the 5m outdoor cable to a weatherproof RCD-protected outdoor socket
- Check the hosetail glow (or transparent end cap) to confirm the lamp is active
Electrical Note
The UK version is supplied without a plug, as outdoor applications in the UK must legally be hardwired. The EU version is supplied with a plug fitted. Connection of the UK version must be carried out by a competent person. Always use an RCD-protected outdoor circuit for pond equipment.
Near-Zero Upkeep.
The Pro Clear UV ULTIMA is engineered to require minimal attention once installed. The removable hosetails allow full servicing without disturbing pipework.
- Replace UV-C lamp annually (spring recommended) — full spares range available
- Clean the quartz sleeve during lamp changes to maintain UV transmission
- Disconnect using the removable hosetails — unit stays on the wall while you service it
- Inspect transparent end caps periodically for algae build-up obscuring the lamp glow
- Check flow rate isn't exceeding the model maximum — over-flow reduces kill effectiveness
Sizing Reminder
Heavily stocked ponds or ponds in full sun should use a UV sized for approximately half the rated maximum pond volume — so a 55W for a 22,000–25,000 litre koi pond in full sun.
